Cody Lee Eckenswiller will serve at least 12 years in prison for the sexual assault of a 2-year-old girl last year in Frankenmuth.
Eckenswiller, a 20-year-old Vassar resident, was handed the sentence of 12 to 25 years in prison Monday, March 6, by Circuit Judge Darnell Jackson.
On Jan. 18, Eckenswiller pleaded no contest to first-degree criminal sexual conduct against someone under the age of 13.
First-degree sexual conduct, commonly referred to as rape, carries a maximum penalty of life in prison with possibility of parole.
At the time of the April 19, 2016, sexual assault, Eckenswiller was free on bond while facing two charges of possessing child sexually abusive material.
Those charges stem from allegations he sought and possessed child pornography between early 2015 and February 2016 at his former Buena Vista Township home.
He pleaded guilty to those charges and was sentenced Monday by Jackson to time served.
Upon release from prison, Eckenswiller must register as a sex offender and have lifetime electronic monitoring.
