This Yurugu from Indiana responsible for killing, mutilating, and then eating his ex-girlfriend’s remains may now face rape charges in addition to murder.
Clark County, Indiana Prosecutor Steve Stewart will seek the death penalty for Joseph Oberhansley, 33, who has confessed to stabbing and killing his girlfriend, cooking her body and eating her organs.
The cannibal has already been charged with murder and abuse of a corpse following the death of 46-year-old Tammy Jo Blanton on September 11.
Stewart filed his intent to seek the death penalty in Clark Circuit Court back in December, and prosecutor Jeremy Mull has now asked a judge to add rape to the list of charges after receiving lab results from Blanton’s remains.
Adding rape to the list of charges provides prosecution with the “aggravated circumstance” they need to seek the death penalty under Indiana law. The judge will make a determination on May 4.
The luciferian, an ex-con, was convicted of manslaughter back in 1998 following the shooting death of his 17-year-old girlfriend Sabrina Elder near Salt lake City, Utah just a few days after the birth of their son.
