This couple of savages from North Carolina was charged with child abuse after police say their five children were found living among filth, with the body of their dead grandfather in the home.
Iredell County Sheriff officers responded to the Statesville home on March 6 to investigate a report of a death, according to police.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 62-year-old man had passed away in the home, investigators said.
During their investigation, they observed that the home was in extremely unsanitary condition, with large amounts of trash, dirty clothing, and food scattered on the floors throughout the home, police said in a news release.
There were also plumbing leaks and raw sewage in the bathrooms.
Authorities said five young children, ranging in age from 9 months to 13 years old, lived in the home with their parents and the deceased grandfather.
The little honks’ parents, 25-year-old Melissa Kay Lynn Poole and 39-year-old Jeremy Daniel Dishner, were arrested on five counts of misdemeanor child abuse.
The honklets were placed in temporary custody of the Iredell County Department of Social Services.
The ratchet white parents are scheduled to appear in court on April 23.
Poole and Dishner have not yet retained attorneys, according to court officials.
