Arkansas Republican legislator Justin Harris is fighting for his political life after reports surfaced this week that he gave away an adopted daughter to a former employee, who savagely raped the 6-year-old.
Harris dodged reporters earlier this week, but was supposed to speak on Friday, according to local media reports.
Thursday night, his lawyer released a cryptic statement saying Harris and his wife, Marsha, were “forced” to give away the 6-year-old , and her 3-year-old sister, because they suffered from reactive attachment disorder — a behavioral disorder associated with trauma and child abuse.
The state’s Democratic Party called on Friday for Harris to resign, saying his action “directly (led) to the rape of the 6-year-old girl who Rep. Harris is responsible for,” chair Vince Insallaco said in a statement.
In April 2014, Eric Francis, 38, was arrested by state police for the rape of 6-year-old girl temporarily in his care.
The arrest made local headlines because the white ogre had briefly served as the head teacher of a Christian preschool that was owned by Harris.
The state representative said at the time he “was devastated and sickened” by the child’s rape. What he didn’t say was the child was his adopted daughter, and he had turned her over to the monster/pedophile only a few months before, according to reports this week.
The local media disclosed Harris’ involvement after obtaining several state documents. The Harris family adopted the two girls from the state Department of Health Services in 2013, the paper reported.
About six months after the adoptions were finalized, the girls were turned over to the diabolical pedophile, according to reports.
The sexual terrorist is now serving a 40-year sentence for the attack. The racist politician and his wife gave away the girls because they thought the girls’ behavior somehow endangered the safety of their three older sons.
There is no specific statute prohibiting such actions, the local media said. No words about the racial classification of the victims.
