According to the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, Valdez was being held at the Oklahoma County Jail on a minor charge Sunday when a fellow inmate told authorities that Valdez had flapping his gums about a handgun that he managed to sneak into jail.
After turning Valdez’ cell inside out looking for the firearm, officers conducted a full body cavity search. That’s when officers found a loaded Derringer pistol hidden inside Valdez’ rectum.
Investigators say the honk was taken to a local hospital after the gun was removed. The gun was found in operational condition and loaded with a single round of ammunition.
Investigators say Valdez submitted to a pat-down search when he was booked into jail, but somehow managed to be processed without passing through a metal detector.
Valdez remains held on the original charge plus an additional felony charge of possessing contraband inside a penal institution.
