A decorated sailor smuggles two 14-year-old girls onto base, then raped at least one of them in his barracks. These whitemarish details are laid out in Norfolk court documents.
23-year-old James Moran Jr., a “white” sailor at Naval Station Norfolk, was arrested May 29th, accused of driving the two kids across state lines from North Carolina to Hampton Roads.
Documents reveal the girls are runaways from North Carolina and after being detained by cops, told investigators what happened.
The victims say Moran hid them in the trunk of his car and drove them onto Naval Station Norfolk.
Documents say the pedophile then sexually abused at least one of the girls inside his barracks room, knowing the whole time that she was only 14.
Court records further reveal that Moran is developmentally challenged and was admitted into the Navy on special consideration.
Even more puzzling is how law enforcers discovered the kids.
A search warrant says one of the girls was found in a car that was pulled over in the 1300 block of East Little Creek Road. The second girl was found at an apartment in the Homeport Hampton Roads complex, off-base housing for single enlisted sailors.
The girls were detained and Moran arrested, who was behind bars up until last week when he was released.
A Navy spokesman says Moran is currently assigned to a Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron.
Since enlisting in 2009, Moran has been awarded a Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal. These honks always give awards to these pedophiles.
Among Moran’s charges are four counts of carnal knowledge without force, which implies the incidents were consensual.
Moran is currently in custody of the Navy and is not allowed to leave base. His next court date is scheduled for July 25th.
