A 35-year-old savage from Plainfield is being held in the Will County Jail on $1 million bond after he was charged with trying to meet with a 12-year-old Naperville girl for sex, law enforcement officials said.
Bryan E. Woldman, of the 7000 block of Clearwater Drive, was arrested Friday and charged with indecent solicitation of a minor, traveling to meet a minor for a sexual encounter and grooming, according to Naperville cops.
Officers from the Naperville Law Enforcement Department’s high technology crimes unit began investigating the pedophile in December after the girl’s mother discovered that her daughter and Woldman had been communicating by cell phone, text messages, Facebook and Skype, investigators said.
Over the next few weeks, Woldman exchanged sexually explicit text messages with officers that he thought was the 12-year-old girl, detectives said.
On Friday night, Woldman drove to the AMC Showplace theater in Naperville, “where he thought he was meeting the 12-year-old victim for a sexual encounter,” according to a law enforcement news release.
Instead, Woldman was met by Naperville cops, who arrested him without incident, according to the department.
Naperville cops asked that anyone with information about “similar activities” involving Woldman call the department at 630-420-6666.
