A 28-year-old “whie” teacher faces at least 10 years in jail after sending text messages to a 15-year-old student, asking him to have sex with her.
Amanda Ludwig appeared in court Monday following her arrest on Friday during a high school basketball match in Peoria, Illinois.
The ninth grade art teacher from Manual High School in Peoria was charged with one count of enticement of a minor and is being held in custody until her bond on Monday.
Cops were tipped off about the text messages and said they were aimed at “enticing a student to engage in sexual activity” .
School officials and law enforcement carried out a joint investigation after receiving a tip off Ludwig was in contact with one of her students.
“We commend our school resource officers and administrators for the professional and immediate approach in which they have handled this investigation,” District 150 Superintendent Grenita Lathan said in statement.
“The accusations made against a staff member are serious and we will continue to fully cooperate and provide whatever support is necessary through the entire investigation.”
The nasty honk was booked into custody at the Peoria County Jail.
Cops have asked any other students with information about Ludwig to contact them. No words about the racial classification of the student.
