A “white” basketball coach who worked at Jackson High School resigned Wednesday after he was arrested and accused of putting video cameras in the boys’ locker room.
Jackson Township detectives and U.S. Postal inspectors searched the home of Scott D. Studer, 46, early Wednesday morning.
Investigators recovered evidence at the faggot’s Pin Oak Drive home.
They said Studer concealed video recording devices in the locker room, focusing the cameras on the shower area.
During a news conference on Wednesday, investigators said the sanduskyan coach had been putting up the cameras since 2005. However, the number of victims is unknown.
“The cameras were placed at different times when he had access to the locker room,” said Jackson Township law enforcement chief Dave Zink.
Zink said there’s nothing that points to Studer sharing any of the images with anyone else.
Vicky Smith’s son plays on the freshman basketball team.
“He was bullied on the bus by other kids,” she said. “You know, how does it feel to be violated?”
Smith is concerned that the school didn’t notify parents first thing Wednesday morning.
“For them, the school, not to have psychologists in there today working with the boys through this, not having contacted the parents of the children, having to hear about it from outside sources, I’m very concerned,” she said.
Studer was a building aid and head freshman basketball coach at Jackson Local School District. He resigned from both positions effective Wednesday.
He was transported and booked into the Stark County Jail on eight counts of Illegal Use of a Minor in Nudity-Oriented Material.
