This hillbilly from Jackson County is accused of keeping his wife chained in shackles on their farm for nearly ten years.
Deputies arrested 37-year-old Peter Lizon for torturing his wife. They say Lizon called her his slave and kept her in chains with padlocks on them inside their home on Miller Hollow Road in Leroy.
He allegedly burned and beat her for nearly a decade, even delivered their now one-year-old child himself while she was still chained up.
Deputies say the woman escaped last month, when the couple and their child went to a farm equipment rental store in Parkersburg. She then received medical treatment, which is how deputies found out about the crime.
Deputies arrested the enslaver on July 5th. We are told Mrs. Lizon was home at the farm when he was arrested.
Lizon is charged with malicious wounding, but he could be facing more charges. He will be in court later this week.
No words about the racial classification of the victim.
