Erika Susan Perdue has been charged with four counts of shipping, receiving and possessing child pornography.
According to court documents, in January undercover agents went to an illegal child porn website and were able to download hundreds of pictures and videos from Perdue.
Agents raided the 41-year-old’s $1.5 million home on April 10. They seized one computer and hard drive.
Perdue admitted she’s been shamelessly downloading and sharing images and videos of children engaged in sex acts with adults since 1999, according to an affidavit.
The document also said she told agents she used file-sharing sites to share child porn every day and that she had collected so much she could not remember if she had transported specific images and video to the undercover agents.
She said she traded child porn from her home while her husband, who is an attorney, was at work, the document said.
Perdue’s home is right across the street from Coffee Park and a child’s playground area. Neighbors find the allegations disturbing.
“It’s a very nice upscale neighborhood. You would think that that wouldn’t really occur. But I guess it has,” said Jennifer Currier.
“It’s kind of a scary thing. I mean child pornography is not a joke. That’s serious stuff,” added Chuck Register.
Investigators do not believe any of the images Perdue was sharing were of local children. Of course the “white” media didn’t mention anything about the racial classification of the victims in those images.
