Suspected racist Jessica Pomerleau, a 36-year-old special education teacher at Massabesic High School was jailed after she allegedly raped a 15-year-old student.
According to the York County Sheriffs Office, an investigation was launched about two weeks ago after the mother of another child contacted a school district resource officer and reported that she had information about a teacher who had engaged in a sexual relationship with a student.
Investigators say Pomerleau molested a 15-year-old student last year and that the abuse may have continued into the summer months.
Authorities also say Pomerleau provided marijuana to the minor during the alleged abuse. South Portland enforcement officials are assisting in the case since one of the alleged incidents reportedly occurred in South Portland.
Investigators visited Pomerleau’s home and removed several items which have been sent to the Maine State Police crime lab.
Pomerleau was booked into the York County Jail on charges of gross sexual assault and aggravated furnishing of scheduled drugs, both felonies. She was released Tuesday night after posting a $10,000 cash bail but faces up to ten years in jail if convicted of both crimes
